The Position

Mannix College seeks to appoint an authentic and values driven leader as Principal. Affiliated with Monash University and sponsored by the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, Mannix College occupies a unique position within the Australian residential college sector as the only residential college affiliated with Monash University. The Principal serves as the Chief Executive of the College, providing strategic leadership across community life, student wellbeing, academic and leadership development, operations and financial stewardship. Additionally, the Principal ensures the College continues to deliver an exceptional residential experience grounded in its Catholic mission and values.

Reporting to the Mannix College Council, the Principal leads a well established and highly regarded residential community and works closely with Council, the Archdiocese, Monash University and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The College is entering an important period of continued growth and there are opportunities to strengthen its future market position, broaden participation among regional, rural and first in family students, enhance facilities and resident experience, and continue its leadership in student wellbeing, safety and respectful community culture. The role also carries responsibility for organisational performance, financial sustainability, stakeholder engagement, fundraising and the ongoing development of a connected and high‑performing staff community.

The successful appointee will be a highly visible and relational leader with the capacity to inspire confidence across students, staff, Council members, Church representatives,



alumni and university partners. They will bring demonstrated experience leading a complex, values based organisation, together with strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management capability and a commitment to student formation and wellbeing. The College seeks a leader who will honour Mannix’s rich traditions while guiding its continued evolution, balancing academic excellence, community, inclusion and faith in a manner that is intellectually credible, welcoming and future focused. The Organisation

Founded in 1969, Mannix College is an award winning residential college located directly opposite the Clayton campus of Monash University. Home to approximately 315 residents from across Australia and around the world, the College is recognised for its strong academic culture, outstanding pastoral care and commitment to developing graduates who contribute positively to their communities.
