Make an impact through harm reduction and community care

Join Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services as a Needle and Syringe Program Coordinator and help deliver a vital community-based service supporting harm reduction, education and access to health resources.

Your new role:

As the Needle and Syringe Program Coordinator, you will play an key role in coordinating and maintaining the local Needle and Syringe Program at Inala Community Health Centre. You will support the delivery of accessible, client-focused harm reduction services while working closely with health professionals, pharmacies, community organisations and other service providers.

You will also provide leadership to the administrative team, support quality and safety initiatives, maintain accurate program data and contribute to the ongoing development of processes and services.

- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Needle and Syringe Program and associated database.
- Provide clean injecting equipment, health information, education and brief interventions.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with government, non-government, pharmacy and community services.
- Provide advice and education regarding injecting drug use and harm reduction.

About you:

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated professional who can confidently coordinate a community-based service, build positive relationships and work with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.

You will bring strong administrative and communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously while supporting a collaborative team environment.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in coordinating and maintaining a Needle and Syringe Program, including associated records and data.
- The ability to provide advice, education and prevention information relating to injecting drug use, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of policies,



procedures and practices relevant to addiction and mental health services will be highly regarded.

A relevant qualification would also be highly regarded.
