R&D; Tax Specialist About the Firm
Our client is a highly regarded accounting and advisory firm with a robust and growing R&D; Tax practice in Brisbane.
Working with innovative and future focused businesses across a range of industries, the team helps clients access the R&D; Tax Incentive while providing commercially focused advice.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced R&D; Tax professional at Manager, Senior Manager or Director level.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to step into a senior position within an established R&D; Tax team, with an existing portfolio of clients to manage and develop.
You will work closely with business owners, CFOs, technical leaders and senior stakeholders, providing high quality advice across the R&D; Tax Incentive.
At Manager level, the focus will be on managing client relationships, leading R&D; Tax engagements and supporting the development of the wider team.
At Senior Manager and Director level, there is greater scope to take ownership of client relationships, develop new opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Business development capability is preferred, but not essential.
The firm is open to professionals who are strong technically and client focused, with the opportunity to develop further into BD and practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage an existing portfolio of R&D; Tax clients
• Lead the end to end delivery of R&D; Tax Incentive claims
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners,
CFOs and technical stakeholders
• Assess eligible R&D; activities and provide advice around eligibility and structuring
• Review technical documentation and financial information
• Manage and mentor junior members of the team
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships
• Support business development and growth of the R&D; Tax practice
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation and ATO guidance
What You Will Bring • Strong experience in R&D; Tax, ideally within an accounting or advisory firm
• Strong understanding of the Australian R&D; Tax Incentive
• Experience managing client relationships and an existing portfolio
• Strong technical and commercial capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Leadership experience or the ambition to take on greater responsibility
• BD experience or an established network is preferred, but not essential
