Our client is an established international valve manufacturer looking to expand into the Australian market. They are seeking an experienced industry professional to join on a part-time consulting basis and help establish the foundations for their Australian operations.
The role will focus on helping the business navigate Australian standards, approvals and certification requirements for its valve products, while also providing guidance on the local market and routes to market.
You will also use your existing industry network to build relationships with key distributors, contractors, utilities and end users, helping create the connections needed for a successful market entry.
The Role:
- Advise on the Australian valve market, including key customers, competitors and routes to market
- Assist with relevant Australian standards, certifications and compliance requirements
- Identify and engage with relevant industry bodies, consultants and technical stakeholders
- Leverage your existing network to establish relationships with distributors, contractors and end users
- Provide market intelligence and advice to the international leadership team
- Help develop the company's Australian go-to-market strategy
- Identify opportunities to establish a long-term presence in Australia
Your Background:
We are looking for an experienced qualified with strong knowledge of the Australian valve, waterworks, fire protection or associated engineering markets.
You may currently be working in a senior commercial, technical or consulting position, or be an experienced industry professional looking for a flexible part-time consulting engagement.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian valve / water infrastructure / fire protection market
- Understanding of relevant Australian standards, approvals and regulatory requirements
- An established network across distributors, contractors, consultants, engineers, utilities or end users
- The credibility and relationships to open doors and make introductions
- Strong commercial and industry awareness
- The ability to work independently and provide clear advice to an international business
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
