The Community Corrections and Specialist Operations (CCSO) Division oversees Community Corrections, Specialist Operations & project delivery across the Division. CCSO is responsible for the supervision of offenders in the community, the management of specialist offender cohorts, & the delivery of services that support rehabilitation, community safety & operational excellence. Within CCSO, the Project Delivery Command drives transformational change & strengthens project and program delivery capability across the Division.

As the Principal Project Officer, Governance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting governance excellence across the CCSO Project Delivery Command. Working within a dynamic and complex project environment, you will contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of governance frameworks, policies, processes and reporting systems.

As the Principal Project Officer, Governance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting governance excellence across the CCSO Project Delivery Command. Working within a dynamic and complex project environment, you will contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of governance frameworks, policies, processes and reporting systems that support effective decision-making and organisational accountability.

You will provide high-level governance advice and support across the CCSO Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring projects and programs are aligned with established governance requirements and corporate standards. The role also involves monitoring governance risks and issues,



supporting governance committees, developing quality guidance materials and templates, and coordinating the preparation of high-quality reports, briefings, submissions and correspondence for a range of stakeholders.

Building strong relationships across the organisation will be essential, as you work collaboratively with project teams, senior leaders and key stakeholders to foster a culture of sound governance, accountability and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to developing governance capability across the PMO through education, advice and support.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience working within a Program Management Office or similar governance environment and have a strong understanding of governance frameworks, project delivery and public sector accountability requirements. You will possess highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify governance risks, manage competing priorities and provide practical, solutions-focused advice.

You will also demonstrate:

• Experience providing governance advice and support to senior leaders within a large and complex organisation.




• Proven capability in developing and implementing governance frameworks, strategies, policies and processes.
• Experience monitoring and reporting on risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, milestones and project performance.
• Robust written communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex reports, briefings, submissions and executive correspondence.
• The ability to build productive relationships and effectively engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience supporting organisational change, continuous improvement and governance maturity initiatives.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Sound judgement, professionalism and a commitment to ethical and respectful behaviours.

Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, legislation, regulations and standards relevant to corrective services will be highly regarded.

Professional project management certifications such as PRINCE2, MSP or similar, and qualifications in business, public policy, management or a related discipline are desirable. Travel may occasionally be required to support business activities across different locations.
