About Tooronga Veterinary Hospital
Tooronga Veterinary Hospital (TVH) is a modern, rapidly growing general practice veterinary hospital. Opened in 2024, we have quickly established an excellent reputation for providing an exceptional standard of veterinary care. We have a loyal client base, with clients travelling from across Melbourne to access our services.
At TVH, the client experience sits at the heart of everything we do. From the first phone call to every visit that follows, we want our clients to feel welcomed, listened to and genuinely cared for.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, is organised and takes pride in providing outstanding client service. You will work closely with our veterinarians and nursing team to ensure clients receive a warm welcome, clear communication and a seamless experience throughout their pet’s visit.
The role includes welcoming clients and their pets, answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries, managing the day-to-day appointment schedule, processing payments, coordinating patient admissions and discharges, relaying client messages and enquiries to the appropriate veterinarian and ensuring timely responses and follow-up, managing emails, and undertaking general administrative duties.
What We Offer
- Part-time employment of approximately 30 hours per week.
- Remuneration above typical rates in the veterinary profession, commensurate with experience.
- A friendly, supportive and collaborative team environment.
- The opportunity to work in a contemporary, growing veterinary hospital with an excellent reputation.
- A workplace where teamwork, staff wellbeing and excellent client service are genuinely valued.
About You
You will bring:
- A bubbly, positive and can-do attitude.
- Compassion, empathy and emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional communication skills and a calm, reassuring manner under pressure.
- Outstanding written communication skills.
- A genuine love of animals and an interest in the veterinary profession.
Compassion & Emotional Resilience
Working in a veterinary hospital can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be emotionally challenging. This role would suit someone who can remain calm and reassuring when clients are distressed, upset or overwhelmed. Sometimes your role will simply be to listen, provide a kind word or be a reassuring presence for someone having a very difficult day. Being able to make a difficult day a little easier for a client can be one of the most rewarding parts of working in veterinary care.
Why Join Us?
We are privately owned, with owners who genuinely care about our team, our patients and the experience we provide to clients.
Our reputation has been built not only on the standard of veterinary care we provide, but on the way we treat people. Every client should feel listened to, respected and genuinely cared for.
How to Apply
Please send your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you would be a good fit for the role to: **@toorongavet.com.au
Please address your application to Mrs Rachael van Ryn.
Applications close 15 September 2026.
