Who is are-able?
At are-able, we recognise the unique strengths and perspectives that each person brings.
We are committed to building an inclusive, diverse and supportive workplace - where ideas thrive, innovation grows, and people feel valued. Our organisation champions meaningful impact, professional growth, and a healthy balance between work and family.
With over 30 years of deep community connection, we continue to transform lives and foster opportunities. We are driven by our mission to do more for more people in more communities. We break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create an environment where everyone’s abilities are not only recognised but nurtured.
Why choose to work with are-able?
are-able has been recognised as a Winner of the Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice. We promote a positive team culture, underpinned by the values of respect, empathy, integrity and innovation. We look for employees who have a genuine passion for those in need and can participate in our high-performing culture.
As a Support Worker within our Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), you’ll support people with disability to participate in meaningful, hands-on work while building their confidence, independence and workplace skills. Working alongside our Social Enterprises team, you’ll provide practical guidance, encouragement and on-the-job support as participants take part in the day-to-day activities of the CDS, including sorting, handling and processing eligible containers. You’ll help create a safe,
inclusive and positive work environment where every participant is supported to contribute, develop their skills and achieve their individual goals.
In addition to CDS, our Albert Street site offers a large range of services to the community, such as the Big R's Shed, eWaste and Create & Collate. For more information on our social enterprises and what we do, click on NDIS Social Enterprises (areable.org.au).
Ideally a Support Worker will have previous work experience in a similar role, with the ability to work with people of all abilities and a agile and energetic personality that fits within our supportive, team-driven culture. High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong administration and time management skills. In addition, you will be able to exercise initiative and creativity in achieving desired outcomes.
