The Chance
We are seeking an experienced Senior Economic Consultant to join our team in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
This is a senior consulting role for someone with a proven background in private-sector consulting and property or economic advisory. We are looking for an experienced operator who is comfortable managing client relationships, leading consulting assignments and translating complex analysis into clear, commercially focused advice.
You will work directly with the Principals of the business across a diverse portfolio of property, development and economic advisory projects throughout Australia.

The role provides exposure to high-profile projects spanning property markets, development strategy, demographic and demand analysis, market feasibility, spatial analysis and broader economic advisory work.
We are looking for someone who can move beyond simply reporting the data to understanding what it means for a project, investment or development decision, and who is confident forming and communicating a clear, evidence-based view.
About You
This role requires an experienced private-sector consultant with a strong background in property economics,
economic advisory or a closely related field.
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:
- 5+ years' experience in private-sector consulting or professional advisory services
- Demonstrated experience in property economics, development advisory, market research, urban economics or a closely related field
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, property economics, commerce, business, finance, planning or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing consulting assignments or substantial project workstreams from inception through to delivery
- Experience working directly with clients and developing strong professional relationships
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate analysis into clear, practical and commercially relevant advice
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability, including the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify meaningful insights
- Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality client reports, presentations and recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capability
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and the confidence to develop and defend a well-reasoned view
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within consulting timeframes
- A team-oriented, pragmatic and commercially focused approach
Experience with GIS, spatial analysis, data visualisation, Power BI, Python or other analytical tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Role
As a Senior Economic Consultant,
you will work across the full lifecycle of private and public sector consulting assignments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading property market, economic, demographic and development analysis
- Providing strategic and commercially focused advice to clients planning, delivering or investing in property and development projects
- Managing consulting projects and key workstreams from commencement through to final delivery
- Working directly with clients to understand their objectives, test assumptions and develop practical recommendations
- Interpreting complex data and translating it into clear conclusions and commercially relevant advice
- Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, models and other client deliverables
- Presenting findings and recommendations to clients and other project stakeholders
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Reviewing and guiding work undertaken by junior team members
- Contributing to the continued development of Think Economics' datasets, analytical tools and methodologies
- Participating in business development and helping identify, develop and convert opportunities for future work
