Our main office is conveniently located in East Melbourne with additional centres in Pascoe Vale South & Parkville.

About the Role:

As a Dermatology Fellow, the primary purpose of your role is to practice clinical dermatology and obtain advanced subspeciality training in the diagnosis and treatment of skin and hair conditions.

This role is a key part of our clinical team and works closely with Consultant Dermatologists and other healthcare professionals across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Dermatologist seeking to further develop their expertise through advanced training in general dermatology, skin cancer, hair disorders and related subspeciality areas under specialist supervision.

This is a full-time fixed-term role for 5 days a week.

As a Dermatology Fellow, you will:

- Perform skin biopsies, including punch, shave, excisional and incisional biopsies

- Undertake curettage, shave excisions, saucerisation, cauterisation and electrosurgery procedures for both benign and malignant skin lesions

- Perform excision surgery, including fusiform ellipse excisions, simple closures and layered closures

- Provide cryosurgery treatment for benign lesions such as solar keratoses, verrucae and skin tags, as well as selected malignant lesions including superficial BCCs and IEC/Bowen's disease.

- Administer local anaesthetic infiltration procedures

- Deliver phototherapy treatments, including narrowband UV therapy

- Perform intralesional steroid injections where clinically indicated

- Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of dermatological conditions across all age groups and patient populations





- Participate in the management of both medical and procedural dermatology patients under the supervision of experienced Dermatologists.

- Develop and expand knowledge of advanced dermatological procedures and treatments, including exposure to patch testing, surgical procedures in special anatomical areas, skin grafting, sclerotherapy, vascular lasers, tissue augmentation and skin cancer radiotherapy.

- Contribute to clinical research, quality improvement initiatives and educational activities where appropriate.

- Recognise personal limitations and seek guidance from senior colleagues when required to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Specialist Qualifications in Dermatology, and experience and postgraduate training in the specialty of dermatology, with the skills and experience required to work capably under supervision as a Dermatology Fellow.

- Eligibility for medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

- Extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders and skin cancer

- Well-developed procedural skills, including skin biopsies, excision surgery, cryotherapy, electrosurgery and intralesional therapies.

- Competence in the clinical skills and disease entities outlined within the Australian College of Dermatologists Training Program Curriculum.

- Subspecialty expertise in the management of hair disorders, including:

- Androgenetic Alopecia
- Alopecia Areata
- Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA)
- Folliculitis Decalvans Syndrome (FDS)
- Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE)

- Experience with contemporary hair loss treatments, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and advanced medical management protocols.

- Strong knowledge of current evidence-based medical treatment regimens for hair and scalp disorders.

- Experience consulting with paediatric patients and patients across all age groups,



including the ability to manage up to 10 paediatric consultation sessions per week.

- Experience with reviewing patient referrals and taking their medical history to examine, diagnose, treat, refer to other specialists or prescribe medication.

- Experience with maintaining patient clinical records

- The ability to work in liaison with our nurses, reception, patient coordinators and practice manager

- The willingness to supervise and mentor junior colleagues

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families and colleagues.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

- A willingness to take responsibility for patient management while recognising personal limitations and seeking support when necessary.

- A demonstrated commitment to research, clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.

- A high standard of professional integrity, judgement and personal character.

- An awareness of the community and professional responsibilities associated with specialist medical practice.

- A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and achieving outstanding clinical outcomes.
