We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer based in Central Queensland to join our team supporting a key mining client on a drive-in/drive-out basis.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role supporting critical server, cloud and network environments, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while building strong client relationships.

About the Role:

You will primarily support a dedicated mining account, with opportunities to assist across our other mining clients. The role operates predominately on a 38-hour week with a fortnightly rotation.

Week 1: Travel to and work onsite at a client mine site, delivering infrastructure support, project work and escalation assistance.

Week 2: Working from home, focusing on monitoring, administration, change management and support to other mining clients as required.

What You Will Do:

- Manage and maintain server, virtualisation and cloud infrastructure across client mining environments.

- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft Cloud Services.

- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless networks and VPN connectivity.

- Deliver infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, deployments and lifecycle replacements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex escalations - server, network, and cloud issues that sit above the field tech layer.

- Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions in business-critical environments.

- Work closely with onsite technicians and client stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

- Ensure all work complies with mine site safety requirements and operational procedures.

- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configuration, changes, and compliance requirements.

- Provide remote support to multiple mining accounts during WFH weeks.

What You Will Bring:





- Experience as a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Senior Systems Administrator or similar (mining experience is highly regarded).

- Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Entra ID.

- Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless, firewalls and VPNs technologies.

- Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

- Experience managing backup, disaster recovery and monitoring solutions.

- Ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and take ownership through to resolution.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.

- A current Australian driver's licence and the ability to travel to mine sites.

- Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical, including regular drug and alcohol testing.

Desirable:

- Current Coal Board Medical (CBM) and/or Standard 11 induction.

- Experience with Halo PSA (preferable) or similar PSA's.

- Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-800/801 or equivalent).

- Experience with monitoring platforms like Ninja RMM & Auvik.
