The Role

Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, the P&C; Business Partner is a deliberately hands-on position supporting people leaders with practical, people-focused advice across the full employee lifecycle and supporting employees directly as a trusted advisor.

Day to day, the role has a broad remit including recruitment and onboarding, talent management, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, retention, offboarding and change, alongside legal and policy compliance and support for injury management and return-to-work processes.

What lifts it above a standard BP role is the focus on enhancing the partnering aspect of People & Culture, assisting leaders and the business to understand the business success that can be realized through better P&C; Partnering. In addition, there is scope to support a range of P&C; projects, including recruitment and onboarding processes, new system functionality and the performance management cycle. This position provides real scope to shape how this organisation does People & Culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Support talent acquisition and selection, from position description development to screening, interviewing and oversee onboarding.

- Design and implement a new continuous performance management cycle, then manage the annual program.

- Support talent assessment, leadership development and career pathing, conduct skills needs analysis, and implement training and intervention programs.

- Design and deliver organisational change initiatives, culture assessments and employee engagement activity.

- Provide high-quality employee and industrial relations advice,



manage grievances, conduct investigations, mediate disputes and support the CPCO on industrial matters including enterprise bargaining.

- Coach line managers through day-to-day performance, counselling, development and disciplinary matters.

- Implement and communicate policy, maintain current knowledge of employment legislation and support policy and procedure development.

- Act as super user for HR systems, maintain accurate employee records, manage the P&C; inbox, and use HR data to build meaningful reporting.

- Coordinate offboarding, and support the Safety & Wellbeing Advisor with OHS, injury management and return-to-work processes.

Skills & Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.

- Experience in an operational HR or generalist business partnering role covering the full employee lifecycle.

- Sound knowledge of contemporary HR practice including case management.

- Ability to interpret employment legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.

- Demonstrated HRIS experience and strong digital literacy.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build credible relationships at every level.

- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.

- Creative, resourceful and pragmatic, with a team-oriented and dependable approach and a genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion and ethical practice.

A current driver’s licence is required, with occasional travel two between sites.
