AE Components is looking for an Account Manager with an electrical engineering, electrical trade or similar technical background who enjoys working with customers, solving technical problems and developing new business.
You’ll take over an established portfolio of customers from day one, while building the remainder of your portfolio through new relationships and opportunities.
This is a hands-on role within a small sales team. While you’ll own your customer relationships, you’ll also share the load with internal sales, assisting with enquiries and quoting when required.
About AE Components
Established in 1998, AE Components is a WA-based engineering and manufacturing business supplying custom electrical and mechanical components to the power generation, mining and industrial sectors.
Our capabilities include electrical components, CNC machining, fabrication, industrial plastics and rubber, 3D printing and in-house design. We work with major organisations including Western Power, Synergy and FMG.
The Role
You will:
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers
- Develop new business and build your customer portfolio
- Understand technical requirements and recommend practical solutions
- Interpret drawings,
specifications and component applications
- Prepare and follow up quotations
- Assist the team with internal sales, enquiries and quoting
- Work closely with our workshop, engineering and sales teams
- Research products and suppliers to meet customer requirements
- Provide robust after-sales service and follow-up
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- An electrical engineering, electrical trade or similar technical background
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills
- Account management, technical sales or relevant customer-facing experience
- The ability to understand technical drawings and applications
- Commercial awareness and confidence developing new business
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Competent computer skills
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence
- A proactive, dependable and team-focused attitude
Previous sales experience is valuable, but technical knowledge and the ability to build genuine customer relationships are equally important.
