Team Leader – Allied Health (Leadership Pathway Opportunity)

Allied Connect is a multidisciplinary community allied health practice specialising in providing rehabilitation services across community, disability and aged care settings. Our clinicians work with a diverse caseload including neurological, orthopaedic, cardiorespiratory, post-surgical and deconditioned clients.
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Gold Coast team in a unique Leadership Pathway Role.
Based primarily on the Gold Coast, this position will provide leadership support across the wider region, including occasional travel to Brisbane when required.
About the Role
This role has been designed for clinicians who are looking to develop their leadership skills while continuing to maintain a clinical presence. Working closely with the Regional Manager, you will provide operational support, guidance and mentorship to the broader allied health team while gaining valuable leadership experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leave coverage for clinicians during periods of annual leave and emergent leave;
- Supporting clinicians with complex client presentations and clinical decision-making;
- Mentoring and developing junior and emerging clinicians;
- Assisting with onboarding, training and professional development initiatives;
- Supporting the Regional Manager with ad hoc operational and leadership tasks;
- Assisting with workforce planning and service continuity across the region;
- Maintaining and fostering referral relationships within existing networks; and
- Identifying opportunities to support service growth and development.
This position offers an excellent pathway for clinicians seeking to progress into future leadership and management positions within Allied Connect.
About You
We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist (minimum 3 years' experience) who enjoys supporting others, demonstrates initiative and is passionate about contributing to a positive team culture.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong clinical knowledge within community, disability and/or aged care settings;
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior clinicians;
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
- The ability to work autonomously while supporting a broader team;
- Strong organisational and time management skills; and
- A commitment to professional growth and leadership development.
Essential Criteria
- Physiotherapist with full General AHPRA Registration;
- Current Australian National Police Check (less than 3 years old);
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Community, Aged Care or Disability sectors;
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and workload demands;
- Proven ability to mentor and support colleagues; and
- Ability to foster and maintain professional referral relationships.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualifications in Training and Assessment;
- Qualifications in Leadership and Management;
- Experience supporting service delivery across multiple locations; and
- Ability to identify and develop new referral pathways.
