We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse – Grade 3A to join our Nursing and Medical Services team on a permanent part-time basis (4 days per week).
This is an opportunity to use your clinical expertise in a role where your care, communication and advocacy can make a genuine difference to people and their families at an key time in their lives.
About the role
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality palliative care to clients, families and carers in the community.
You will:
- Provide comprehensive, holistic nursing assessments and develop individualised care plans.
- Deliver, evaluate and coordinate high-quality palliative nursing care in collaboration with clients, families, carers and other health professionals.
- Build trusting relationships with clients and their families, ensuring their needs, choices and wishes remain at the centre of care.
- Provide clinical advice, education and advocacy to clients, families and carers.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, health professionals and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Make advanced clinical decisions and respond appropriately to changing client needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, evidence-based practice, research and quality activities.
- Support and mentor colleagues and student placements as required.
- Maintain accurate client records and effectively manage your workload with a high degree of autonomy.
- Provide culturally appropriate, respectful and inclusive care.
About you
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical capability,
compassion and a genuine commitment to palliative care.
Desirable requirements:
- At least 12 months' community-based palliative care experience; or a minimum of four years' post-registration nursing experience
- A postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in palliative care, oncology, community nursing or a related field
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Essential Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- A Certificate, Diploma or Degree in General Nursing that meets AHPRA registration requirements.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working With Children Check
- Working rights in Australia
- A current Victorian driver's licence
