Crab Claw Island Resort is located on picturesque Bynoe Harbour, around 90 minutes from Darwin and Palmerston.
As the business continues to grow ahead of the next dry season, we are looking for an experienced and motivated 2IC – Hospitality to join our team.
We’re looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and enjoys leading and working alongside their team to deliver excellent customer experiences in a busy hospitality environment.
About the role
Working closely with the Resort Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day hospitality operations and support the team to deliver a consistently high standard of service.
This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to lead from the front, support staff during busy periods and be ready to step in wherever needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Resort Manager with the day-to-day running of the hospitality operation
- Leading, supervising and supporting staff across shifts
- Coaching, mentoring and training team members
- Assisting with staffing, rostering and recruitment
- Maintaining a strong focus on customer service and guest experience
- Supporting sales and ensuring operational procedures and standards are followed
- Handling point-of-sale and cash supervision
- Responding to customer needs and resolving issues quickly and professionally
- Working alongside the team during busy service periods
- Helping create a positive, supportive and productive workplace
About you
We are looking for someone who brings experience,
confidence and a genuine willingness to get involved.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous hospitality, food service or retail experience, ideally with at least two years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience leading, mentoring and supervising staff
- A positive attitude and strong team ethic
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- The ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to think on your feet
- Confidence using point-of-sale systems and general computer programs
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- A current RSA Competency Card
- Flexibility to work a roster that includes nights, weekends and public holidays
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is prepared to be part of the team. This isn't a role where you simply supervise from the sidelines — we want someone who leads by example, gets involved and helps keep things moving when it gets busy.
