About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to support our onsite operations in our Machining area. This is a hands-on role assisting qualified tradespeople with a variety of tasks onsite.
The role suits someone safety-focused, physically capable, and willing to take direction while gaining exposure to a range of engineering and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting tradesmen on site at Leppington with general workshop tasks
- Wrapping and preparing materials for transport
- Operating forklifts and overhead cranes
- Keeping the workshop and work areas clean, tidy and organised
- Moving and handling materials and equipment safely
- Assisting with basic maintenance and trades related duties when required
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
- Supporting machinists, fitters and other tradespeople as required
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or labourer is preferred
- A current Forklift licence is essential
- Overhead crane experience is highly regarded
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
- Reliable, hands on, willing to learn and be able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work across various client sites
