In this role, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing driver training programs to ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
You will play a crucial part in maintaining Mainfreight's reputation for safety whilst supporting the career development of our drivers and team across the business.Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deliver comprehensive driver training programs tailored to different vehicle types and operational requirementsConduct practical and theoretical assessments of drivers to evaluate their competency and identify areas for improvementAssess and verify driver qualifications, licences, and certifications in accordance with Australian transport regulations and industry standardsMaintain accurate training records and assessment documentation, ensuring full compliance with legislative requirementsProvide constructive feedback to drivers following training sessions and assessments,



supporting their professional developmentWork closely with our operational teams to identify training needs and develop targeted training programsStay current with transport legislation, safety regulations, and best practice in driver training methodologiesMentor and support drivers in developing safe driving habitsAssist in the development and review of training materials and assessment toolsTravel to Mainfreight branches around the country for the purposes of conducting assessments and trainingWhat we're looking forProven experience as a professional driver or in a driver training and assessment role within the transport and logistics industryStrong knowledge of Australian transport legislation, road safety regulations, and vehicle operation standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to instruct and motivate drivers of varying backgrounds and experience levelsAbility to assess driver performance objectively and provide constructive, actionable feedbackStrong organisational skills with the capability to manage training schedules, assessments, and documentation efficientlyA commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risksWhat we offerMainfreight is committed to supporting the growth of our team members.
