Our goal is to create a sustainable future by providing creative and cost-effective solutions for waste management, energy recovery, and environmental protection.We are seeking an experienced field technician to join our team and be responsible for the operations and maintenance of landfill gas and leachate collection systems, with a focus on leachate pump maintenance.
Company Car provided.ResponsibilitiesConduct scheduled environmental monitoring of landfill gas collection systemsGas collection system monitoring and balancingSurface emissions monitoringOut-of-waste bore monitoringConduct unscheduled maintenance of landfill gas collection systemsConduct schedule and unscheduled maintenance of landfill gas flaresConduct scheduled and unscheduled monitoring and maintenance of air operated leachate pumpsReport on operations performance, compliance and production resultsLiaise with and report to customer site representativesLiaise with and assist sub-contractorsComplying with the duty of care assigned under OH&S; legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident preventionObserving all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice,



employer OH&S; and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulationsWear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as requireParticipate in safety, toolbox or other meetings where requiredAll other duties within competence, skill, qualifications and experience as directedWorking flexible work hours and in some unpleasant conditionsOn-call requirement (roster) for response to landfill gas flare outagesRequirementsWaste/environmental experience preferred but not essentialValid Driver's licenseSkills and QualificationsWillingness to learn and developAbility to work outdoors and in unpleasant conditionsGood mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machines including pumps, blowers, air compressors and plant instrumentation (trade background not essential)Ability to follow instructions and use multiple environmental monitoring equipmentAbility to work independently or as part of a teamSelf-motivated with the ability to take initiativeAbility to travel to multiple landfill sitesReasonable computer skills, ability to navigate around internal company databases including Maintenance Management Systems and online systemsGood written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management and organisational skills.
