This is a full time position based in Campbellfield VIC ****.
As a Welder First Class, you will be responsible for performing skilled welding operations to the highest standards, ensuring all work meets our stringent quality requirements and industry regulations.
This role is integral to our production operations and offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects utilising your advanced welding expertise.Key responsibilitiesPerform high-quality welding operations using various welding techniques and processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick weldingRead and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications accuratelySet up and operate welding equipment, ensuring all machinery is properly calibrated and maintainedPrepare workpieces for welding through cutting, grinding,
and positioningInspect welds and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specificationsConduct visual and dimensional checks on completed welds using appropriate measuring toolsMaintain accurate records of welding work and quality inspectionsAdhere to all workplace health and safety procedures and regulationsSupport junior welders and apprentices by providing guidance and sharing best practicesCollaborate with production and quality teams to resolve technical issues and optimise workflowsWhat we're looking forCurrent First Class Welder Ticket or equivalent welding qualification recognised in VictoriaProven experience of at least 5+ years working as a qualified welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentProficiency in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core arc weldingDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specificationsStrong attention to detail with a commitment to producing work that meets strict quality standardsComprehensive understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and regulatory compliancePhysical capability to perform the demands of the role, including working in various positions and handling heavy materialsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a teamCommunication skills and the ability to mentor and support less experienced team membersExperience with metal fabrication, boilermaking, or pressure vessel work is highly desirableWhat we offerAt MCI, we recognise that our skilled workforce is our greatest asset.
