SSC Building Group PTY LTD is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Carpenter Apprentice to join our growing team in Wallan, VIC.
This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to learn and develop practical carpentry skills whilst working alongside experienced tradespeople on residential and commercial building projects.
As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of carpentry, from framing and structural work to finishing and installations.
This role is fundamental to your career development in the building and construction industry and will provide you with the foundation needed to become a skilled carpenter.What you'll be doingAssisting experienced carpenters on residential and commercial building projectsLearning and executing fundamental carpentry techniques including measuring, marking, cutting and fitting timber and other materialsConstructing and installing frameworks, roof trusses, flooring and wall systemsFitting doors, windows, internal linings and other carpentry fixturesUsing hand and power tools safely and effectively in accordance with workplace health and safety standardsPreparing work areas and maintaining tools and equipment in good working orderFollowing construction drawings and specifications accuratelyAssisting with site cleanup and waste managementCompleting training modules and attending on-the-job instruction as part of your apprenticeshipCommunicating effectively with supervisors and senior tradespeople to understand requirements and report progressWhat we're looking forCurrently enrolled in or willing to enrol in a formal carpentry apprenticeship programme recognised in VictoriaYear 10 or equivalent education minimum,



with strong numeracy and literacy skillsPhysical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditionsGenuine enthusiasm for learning carpentry trades and developing technical skillsStrong work ethic, reliability and punctualityAbility to follow instructions and take direction from experienced tradespeopleA commitment to workplace health and safety practicesExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesBasic problem-solving skills and attention to detailA current, valid driver's licence is desirable for site access and mobilityPrevious experience in construction, manual work or related fields is an advantage but not essentialWhat we offerSSC Building Group PTY LTD is committed to supporting the growth and development of our apprentices.
