North Queensland Skin Centre is seeking an experienced, organised and people-focusedPractice Managerto join our team.
We are a dedicated skin cancer clinic providing comprehensive skin cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment.
We pride ourselves on delivering professional, patient-centred care while maintaining a supportive and efficient workplace for our doctors and team.
We are looking for someone who can take genuine ownership of the daily operations of the practice — keeping the clinic organised, supporting our team and ensuring our patients receive a consistently high standard of service.
About the Role
As Practice Manager, you will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of North Queensland Skin Centre and work closely with our doctors, nursing team, administration staff and senior management.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supporting the reception and administration team
Coordinating daily clinic operations and patient flow
Staff rostering, leave management and coverage
Recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
Supporting staff performance, development and workplace culture
Maintaining clinic policies, procedures and operational systems
Supporting accreditation, compliance and quality improvement activities
Medicare billing and general practice administration
Monitoring appointment books, recalls, workflows and clinic efficiency
Managing patient enquiries, feedback and escalations professionally
Liaising with doctors, nurses, pathology providers and external stakeholders
Assisting with stock, suppliers and general facility requirements
Identifying opportunities to improve systems,



patient experience and practice efficiency
Supporting the ongoing growth and development of the clinic
About You
We are looking for someone who isproactive, approachable and highly organised, with the confidence to lead a team while still being willing to jump in and help when needed.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in practice management, medical administration or a senior healthcare administration role
Solid leadership and people-management skills
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Experience with Medicare billing and medical practice systems
A good understanding of privacy, confidentiality and healthcare compliance
Solid communication and problem-solving skills
Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy clinical environment
A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
A genuine commitment to providing an excellent patient experience
Experience withingeneral practice, dermatology, skin cancer medicine or procedural medicinewould be highly regarded.
