Job Description
Registered Nurse | Transition to Specialty Program
Across our Operating Theatres, we care for patients undergoing a diverse range of surgical procedures, with varying clinical needs and levels of acuity.
As part of the Transition to Specialty Program, you'll have the prospect to develop your clinical knowledge and practical skills as an Anaesthetics & PACU (Recovery) Nurse, within a supportive and collaborative perioperative environment.
You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anaesthetists, perioperative nurses, theatre technicians and other healthcare professionals.
With the support of experienced clinicians, educators and leaders, the program provides structured education, hands-on learning and opportunities to build your confidence and competence in the anaesthetics and recovery environment.
The Transition to Specialty Program is designed to support nurses as they take the next step in their nursing journey, providing a solid foundation in perioperative nursing, anaesthetics and post-operative recovery, with opportunities for ongoing professional development.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Start with afully paidtraining program commencingon 26 Octoberand running forup to fiveweeks, combining classroomlearning with realclinical practice.
Week 1: Foundational theory-based training, supported by an experienced educator.
Weeks 2-5: Supernumerary, hands-on training within the operating theatres.

What You'll Need
At least 2 years post-graduate nursing experience in a hospital setting
Current AHPRA registration
Availability to join a 24/7 rotating roster
A genuine passion for delivering excellent patient care
A commitment to show up, learn, ask questions and grow
Working With Children Check (upon successful application)
Able to provide or complete a National Criminal History Check (upon successful application)
