This is a pivotal role within our vocational training division, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality forklift operation and safety training to diverse learners across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions.
Based in Rutherford NSW ****, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that operators meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, whilst contributing to safer workplaces across the construction, logistics, and warehousing sectors.
This contract position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on workplace safety and professional development.Key responsibilitiesDelivering engaging and compliant forklift training programmes to individuals and groupsConducting practical forklift operation assessments and evaluating competency against industry standardsDeveloping and maintaining comprehensive training materials, lesson plans, and assessment documentationEnsuring all training delivery adheres to relevant legislative requirements, including Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and Australian StandardsProviding constructive feedback to learners and maintaining detailed training records and progress reportsOperating and maintaining training equipment, including forklifts and associated safety apparatus, in optimal working conditionCollaborating with clients to understand their specific training needs and tailoring programmes accordinglyStaying current with industry best practices, regulatory changes,



and advancements in forklift safety and operation techniquesContributing to the continuous improvement of training delivery methods and course contentWhat we're looking forValid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent recognized qualification)Current forklift operator licence or equivalent certification demonstrating advanced operational competencyStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to learners of varying abilitiesDemonstrated ability to assess learner competency fairly and objectively using recognised assessment methodologiesCurrent knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and its application to workplace trainingHigh level of organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail in documentation and record-keepingAbility to work independentlyCommitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous professional developmentPreferably, experience in developing or customising training content to meet specific client or industry needsExperience working with diverse learner cohorts, including those with varying literacy levels or learning needs,
