We are passionate about our focus in providing education and employment opportunities.We are looking for a passionate Youth Mentor to join our team in Broome and make a positive impact in the lives of youth and lowering the rates of recidivism for our participants through mentoring and support.Job DescriptionAbout the role:The Youth Mentor position will be required to work in partnership with HOPE Community Services and Youth Justice staff in the region and provide mentoring support and assistance to young people and their families.
The program operates in Broome and referrals for participants are supplied by Youth Justice.The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build upon partnerships within the community and run programs, workshops, meetings, and mentor the participants in a one-on-one setting and will work individually with participants and their families for an extended period.




The role offers extensive training opportunities and support to the successful applicant.This is a full time fixed term position until 30 June ****.Skills and Experience:To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate the following work-related experience and attributes:Completion of a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or related field and/or relevant previous experience.Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a teamExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenDemonstrated knowledge of government and other bodies that provide services to Aboriginal peopleHighly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence outcomesAble to tow a trailer and drive a busDepartment of Justice and Police Clearances (or ability to obtain)National Police Clearance CheckCurrent Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)C Class Driver's LicenceWhat we offer you:An attractive salary including Salary PackagingPool company car available for useA friendly and supportive work environmentPlease note this is an Identified Position for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants only.NB: Shortlisting can occur prior to closing date
