We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to more than 380,000 residents.The RoleAs a Street Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across our City.
Working as part of the City Clean Team, you will undertake a range of cleansing and maintenance activities to ensure Council assets, streets and public areas remain free from litter and debris.This is a hands‐on outdoor role that offers variety in your day‐to‐day work, with responsibilities ranging from litter collection and public space maintenance to responding to emergency cleaning requests.
You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high‐quality services that make a visible difference to the community.Duties will include but not be limited to:Clean and maintain streets, footpaths, parks and other public spacesCollect litter and remove debris to ensure public areas remain safe and presentableOperate equipment including blowers, whipper‐snippers and other small plantRespond to emergency cleansing requests as requiredUndertake routine inspections and complete equipment safety checksYou will have:Current Class C Driver's LicenceExperience in street cleaning,
cleansing operations or a similar outdoor operational roleKnowledge of equipment used to undertake cleansing and maintenance activitiesAbility to work safely in a physically active outdoor environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsA reliable and self‐motivated approach to workCommitment to delivering high‐quality services to the communitySalary starts from $61,112 (Grade A, Step 1) + 12% super, depending on skills and experience.What's in it for you?
