WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Electrician (Full time, Permanent) to join our team.This role will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining essential water infrastructure that communities, industries and the environment rely on every day.
In this hands‐on position, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the safe, reliable and productive operation of complex electrical, automation and communication systems across a diverse network of remote sitesWe welcome applications from Leeton, Orange and Tumut NSWOur Perks and BenefitsAt WaterNSW, we believe that our employees should be as well taken care of as our rivers, dams, and pipelines, that's why we offer a load of benefits.Flexible workingWork a 9-day fortnight at Full pay on the Enterprise AgreementUp to 16 weeks paid parental leaveFertility leaveCorporate wear allowanceProfessional development and educational assistanceAccess to remote area benefit packaging - based on work locationAttractive Salary starting from $112,*******,653 + 12% Super + AllowancesWhat you'll doConfigure, maintain and continuously improve field-based instrumentation, automation and control systems, including SCADA, telemetry, communications networks, power systems and site control devices.Proactively identify, diagnose and rectify electrical and automation system issues to minimise downtime and maintain system availability.Deliver specialist advice and site-based knowledge to support planning, design, testing, implementation and security of automation and communications systems.Plan, procure and coordinate instrumentation and control works,



ensuring contractors deliver high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.Procure goods and services in line with policies and financial approvals, ensuring effective use of resources across projects and maintenance activities.Audit, inspect and approve electrical works to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and organisational guidelines.What we are looking forQualified Electrical Supervisor CertificateProven capability working across instrumentation, control systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipmentDemonstrated ability to fault find and resolve issues end-to-end, from SCADA servers through to site instrumentationHands‐on expertise with PLC programming and field controllers, ideally within complex industrial environmentsProven experience delivering field-based operations and maintenance activitiesHighly self-sufficient and comfortable working independently in remote and isolated locationsWillingness to participate in an on-call 24/7 roster, providing support remotely or on‐site when requiredHow we will support youAt WaterNSW, we balance flexibility – and the way we work – with the needs of the business, our teams, and us as individuals.When it comes to working in an office, we work in a hybrid way.
