We have five locations on the eastern coast of Australia providing equipment and services to our major mining customers.
Our five business pillars are Manufacturing, Drilling Services, Hire Equipment, Repairs/Overhauls and Parts.About the RoleThe Management Accountant is responsible for providing internal financial analysis and reports, enabling key decision-making activities.
Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, you will also work closely and collaborate with the Head of Drilling Operations and the Workshop Manager, generate integral reports to drive business processes and review project profitability.
The Management Accountant needs to exercise integrity and confidentiality.This role will work out of the Thornton Shared Services Office, based in Thornton NSW.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a high degree of financial support to Cougar's facilities and operational needsProvide in-depth analysis on job profitability, detailed tasks and site profit & losses,



including trend analysis across business unitsProvide costing analysis and advice to assess and evaluate business units and projectsDevelop reports that support senior managers to guide business decisionsMaintain standard costs of inventory and labour to ensure they reflect actual costsInventory and WIP analysis, including assessment of provisions for obsolescenceDevelop cost models that inform the preparation of budgets, tenders and forecastsDevelop and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholdersReview the financial integrity of proposed projects and monitor ongoing performanceInteractive support with the finance team to achieve further group accounting goalsPreparation of monthly reporting packsWhat We're Looking ForDegree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or equivalentWorking towards a skilled accounting body, such as CPA or CA2+ years' experience in a commercial/industrial environment or professional accounting firmAbility to interpret and analyse legislation, policy, financial data and reports to provide recommendations and adviceDemonstrated skills and experience in building strong, collaborative partnerships with a range of internal stakeholdersDeveloped knowledge and experience with accounting practices, systems and processesHigh proficiency in ExcelWhy Us?
