accurately and within its statutory obligations.Key responsibilities include:Leading the day-to-day finance function, including payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivableManaging and supporting the Finance teamCoordinating annual budget preparation and monthly budget versus actual reportingPreparing monthly management reports and financial statementsManaging month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations and journalsOverseeing asset accounting, including the fixed asset register and asset revaluationsPreparing BAS, FBT and other taxation requirementsCoordinating annual financial statements and statutory reportingWorking closely with external auditors to support successful audit outcomesLiaising with funding agencies, banks, contractors, insurers and other external stakeholdersImproving financial controls, systems and processes across the organisationProviding financial advice and support to senior managementAbout YouYou are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting capability with the confidence to lead people and work closely with senior stakeholders.You will bring:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related disciplineStrong financial and management accounting experiencePrevious experience managing or supervising a finance teamSound knowledge of Australian Accounting StandardsExperience with budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory accountsStrong Excel and financial systems capabilityExcellent communication, organisation and time management skillsAbility to work autonomously and exercise sound judgementWillingness and ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse regional communityCPA or CA qualifications, Local Government experience, experience dealing with government agencies and MYOB knowledge will be highly regarded.
