This is an identified position under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act **** (WA)Karla Kuliny Aboriginal Corporation (KKAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation working with First Nations children, young people, families and communities, grounded in culturally strong, trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.Naala Djookan Healing Centre is the first suburban-based family and domestic violence (FDV) hub operationalised in Western Australia, delivered through a consortium of ten local service organisations led by the City of Stirling.
The Centre provides healing programs, advocacy, financial counselling, legal support and community education in a trauma-informed, culturally secure and person-centred model.About the RoleWe are seeking a Cultural Lead (0.6 FTE) to lead the development and embedding of Aboriginal cultural knowledge and cultural safety across the Centre, supporting women, children and non-offending family members to heal and recover from the impacts of family and domestic violence.You will report operationally to the Senior Coordinator, Naala Djookan Healing Centre, and to the General Manager, KKAC for employment matters.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver cultural reflective supervision to the NDHC teamProvide strategic guidance on cultural governance, policies and frameworksInform program development and raise awareness of emerging issues across NDHC servicesDeliver cultural learning sessions and workshops for staffBuild and maintain relationships with ACCO consortium partners and other key stakeholdersGuide Advocates to provide culturally safe case management,



supporting client safety, self-determination and empowermentProvide cultural leadership in trauma assessment, needs identification, risk assessment and safety planningContribute to the NDHC Leadership Team and Aboriginal Reference GroupParticipate in team meetings, supervision and a best-practice, trauma-resilient learning environmentSelection CriteriaRelevant tertiary qualification (social work, psychology, social sciences, community services) or 5+ years' equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience supervising staff supporting clients with cultural and complex needsSolid experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive servicesStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with ability to build effective partnershipsSound understanding of community, family connection and systemsAbility to work effectively across culturally diverse environmentsProficiency in MS Office and client record management systemsKnowledge of FDV issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and childrenWorking With Children CheckCurrent National Police Clearance (under 3 months)Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Current 'C' Class Driver's LicencePersonal values aligned with KKAC and NDHCUnderstanding of trauma and attachment theory and its relationship to FDVKnowledge of government and community resources supporting families affected by FDV/homelessnessFor further information about this role or a full description, please contact Mari-Anna Gibson at ••••@karlakuliny.org.au
