We operate a large, busy Indian restaurant with a high-volume kitchen, so we are looking for a chef who is confident working under pressure while maintaining consistency, presentation and quality.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef looking for stable, long-term employment and career progression.Key responsibilitiesPrepare and cook a wide range of traditional Indian curries, sauces and graviesOperate the tandoor and prepare naan breads, tikkas, kebabs and other tandoori dishesMaintain consistency in taste, portioning and presentationComplete food preparation and mise en place for serviceWork efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner servicesFollow recipes, portion controls and kitchen proceduresMaintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanlinessAssist with stock rotation,



storage and minimising food wastageWork closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen teamAssist across different kitchen sections when requiredAbout youPrevious skilled experience as an Indian Curry Chef and/or Tandoor ChefStrong knowledge of authentic Indian cooking techniques, spices, marinades and graviesExperience operating a commercial tandoorAbility to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environmentStrong attention to food quality and consistencyGood communication and teamwork skillsA reliable, professional and hardworking attitudeKnowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene requirementsAustralian commercial kitchen experience is highly regardedAbout usEmbers Fusion Indian Restaurant is a large Indian dining destination in Shellharbour, offering an extensive range of authentic and contemporary Indian cuisine.
