How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play.
There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:Weld, assemble, and fabricate various metal structures and sub-assembly componentsWork with hand tools, grinders, linishers etc.Read and interpret technical drawings, and follow detailed work instructionsMeet tasking targets set by supervisorCheck work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawingWork to tight tolerancesOperate forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipmentPerform cutting, filing, and weld preparation of sheet metal and plate piece partsPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environmentMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication TradeMIG and TIG welding of aluminium to a high standardNV1 Security Clearance eligible preferredDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:2 + years of welding experience5+ years of experience in welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminium or titaniumExperience in aerospace, aviation or motorsport where tight tolerances must be achievedJobbing shop experienceProficient in blueprint reading and lay outKnowledge and experience completing welds that pass visual before being X-rayed or dye pennedCurrent Forklift and/or confined space licenceApplicants must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or have an appropriate Australian work visa or work entitlements.Gilmour Space Technologies is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
