The OpportunityThe Apprentice Fitter will work with theElectrical and Mechanical group's trades, as well as Engineering and Safetystaff to gain experience and training in a wide range of functions involvingHunter Water's assets.What you'll do:Mechanical maintenance of all of Hunter Water's mechanical assets, (pumps, valves, vacuum sewer)Use of hand tools and precision measuring equipmentUse of workshop machinery in a state-of-the-art facility at TomagoWhat you'll need to be successful:Completed School Certificate (Year 10)Class C Driver's Licence or provisional equivalentConstruction Induction CardInterest in and aptitude for mechanical tasksAbility to work effectively within a small team or individually depending on the situationStrong organisational skillsProven communication, collaboration and relationship building skillsDemonstrate strong organisational skillsStrong work ethic and commitment to be productive and efficient at workWilling and able to work in a variety of work environments including but not limited to working in confined spaces,
at heights and in environments exposed to sewer.The apprenticemust be willing and able to complete the following formal education:Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade (TAFE)Class MR Driver's LicenceAll mandatory compliance training including but not limited to Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) (some compliance training requires an individual to be 18 years or older to complete)Crane operator licenceCompleted Higher School Certificate (Year 12)Relevant prior work experience and/or other work experienceOther work experience including other casual or part time workAt Hunter Water we offer a range of employee benefits.
