Behind every happy payday is someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.At VetPartners, we know payroll isn't just about numbers on a screen, it's about making sure thousands of people who care for pets can focus on doing what they love, knowing they'll be paid accurately and on time.With more than 270 veterinary clinics across Australia and New Zealand, we're growing, evolving and looking for a Payroll Officer who's ready to be part of a supportive, high-performing team where accuracy, collaboration and continuous learning are valued every day.If you enjoy solving problems, love the satisfaction of a perfectly balanced pay run and take pride in delivering great service, we'd love to meet you.About the roleReporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you'll be at the heart of our payroll operations, ensuring our clinics and support office teams are paid correctly and on time, every time.You'll be responsible for:Processing end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payrolls with accuracy and attention to detailMaintaining payroll data, employee records, timesheets and leave balancesInvestigating and resolving payroll queries quickly and professionallyPreparing payroll reports, reconciliations and statutory submissionsSupporting compliance with Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislationAssisting with payroll audits and ensuring payroll processes remain compliantDeveloping your technical expertise across areas such as Superannuation, Long Service Leave, Payroll Tax, STP/PAYG, KiwiSaver, Holidays Act and employment legislationBuilding trusted relationships with clinics, Support Office teams and stakeholders by delivering responsive,
friendly and solutions-focused customer serviceLooking for opportunities to improve processes and make payroll even betterAbout youYou're someone who enjoys working with numbers, but even more than that, you enjoy helping people.You'll also bring:3+ years' payroll experience, ideally in a high-volume or multi-site environmentKnowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation and payroll processesExperience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements or employment legislation (highly regarded)Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right the first timeGreat organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA curious mindset and the genuine desire to continue learning and building your payroll expertiseExcellent communication skills and a customer-first approachHigh levels of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential informationExperience with Micropay and Humanforce is highly regarded but not essentialWhy you'll love working with usPayroll might be about numbers, but our team is all about people.You'll join a friendly, knowledgeable team that enjoys sharing ideas, solving challenges together and celebrating the small wins (like balancing a tricky pay run before lunch).
