Permanent full-time - 35 hours per weekFortnightly rostered day off - work/life balanceAbout the roleWe have a great opportunity available for an experienced Landscape Design and Project Officer to join the Open Space and Trees department at Woollahra Council on a permanent full-time basis.Woollahra Council maintains some of Sydney's most beautiful and highly used Harbour foreshores, parks and tree lined streets.Reporting to the Team Leader, Open Space and Recreation Planning, using your creative and extensivelandscape design skills, you willdesign and implement a diverse range of attractive public open space projects and facilities that meet the needs of the community and maximise community well-being.Your projects will range in scale and complexity from playgrounds toSydney Harbour foreshore parks to various types of sporting facilities and grant applications.About youTo be successful in this role, you will be degree qualified in Landscape Architecture.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deliver a high level of service and independently carry out strategic projects.Degree qualifications in Landscape Architecture and eligibility to obtain registration with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, or equivalentDemonstrated experience in Landscape Architecture and ability to prepare design documentation in the form of drawings and specifications for landscape construction, cost estimates and master plansExtensive knowledge and experience in site analysis, landscape design risk assessment,
and plant selection with proven ability to achieve high quality design outcomes for the communityDemonstrated community consultation skills and experienceAdvanced computing skills, including experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite (or equivalent) and Adobe suiteKnowledge and experience in the use of CAD software and graphic presentation software, such as Vectorworks and Indesign, for the production of landscape documentation and media related exhibitsClear and concise written, verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present at forums / workshops for Councillors, Council staff and the general publicProven performance and ability to achieve objectives and meet project timeline targetsWillingness to undertake a wide range of non-design duties and projects to meet the operational needs of the Open Space and Recreation TeamAbility to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary teamCurrent Class C Driver's Licence.Experience in Local Government or similar environmentExperience and knowledge relating to the maintenance and management of public open space,including the preparation of public land plans of managementDemonstrated project management skillsDemonstrated customer service skills and experience, including conflict resolution skills.Experience in writing successful grant applicationsWhat's in it for you?
