Job Description
Job Title: Principal Resilience Consultant
Employment Type: Contract / Fixed-Term
Location: Sydney
Role Purpose
We are seeking a senior Principal Resilience Consultant to lead resilience discovery and assessment activities across the organization.
This role involves independently planning and facilitating structured workshops with senior stakeholders to identify critical dependencies, vulnerabilities, and resilience maturity gaps.
The consultant will translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations to strengthen overall resilience posture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Resilience Discovery & Assessment
Plan, scope, and facilitate resilience discovery workshops with senior stakeholders (GMs, Heads of Functions)
Conduct end-to-end resilience assessments aligned to:
Operational resilience
Business continuity
Impact tolerance frameworks
Identify critical dependencies, risks, and vulnerabilities across systems and processes
2. Measurement & Analysis
Define and apply resilience measurement approaches, including:
Maturity assessments
Provide data-driven insights to support resilience improvements
3. Reporting & Insights
Assessment reports
Heatmaps
Remediation recommendations
Translate workshop outcomes into clear, structured, board-ready outputs
4. Stakeholder Engagement
Engage senior stakeholders and SMEs to:
Validate findings
Gain alignment and buy-in
Drive remediation initiatives
Act as a bridge between business and technical teams
5. Methodology & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the enhancement of resilience methodologies, frameworks, and toolkits
Support development of playbooks and standard practices
Drive continuous improvement in resilience maturity

Technical Resilience (DevSecOps & Cloud)
Integrate resilience practices within DevSecOps and cloud environments
Support resilience across:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Promote secure, scalable, and reliable system design
Resilience & Consulting
Proven experience in resilience assessments (operational, business, or organizational)
Maturity assessments
Impact tolerance analysis
Demonstrated ability to independently lead senior stakeholder workshops
Strong capability in synthesizing complex information into executive-ready outputs
Experience working in a highly autonomous contract role
Technical Expertise
7+ years of experience in DevOps / DevSecOps
Robust experience with:
Cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
CI/CD pipeline design and security integration
Hands-on experience with:
Docker and Kubernetes
Container security practices
Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Shell, Python)
Experience with GitOps tools and practices:
Exposure to regulatory resilience frameworks (e.g., CPS 230, DORA, or equivalent)
Background in consulting, risk advisory, or resilience programs
Experience with:
Resilience maturity models
Scenario testing and impact tolerance frameworks
Certifications such as:
MBCI / FBCI / CBCI
CISM / CRISC or equivalent
Additional Preferred Technical Exposure
AWS resilience and reliability practices
Observability tools (e.g., monitoring and tracing solutions)
Chaos engineering concepts and tools
Strong stakeholder management (senior leadership level)
Workshop facilitation and influencing skills
Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving
Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes
