Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role delivers comprehensive nursing and cancer care services toAboriginal and Torres Strait Islanderpeople of Cape York.
This includes the provision of holistic primary health care, health education, screening and early detection, and the effective management of cancer care.
The position also provides clinical support and contributes to capacity building within the team.About YouDegreequalification in NursingCurrent registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered NurseDivision 1QueenslandImmunisation Endorsement, or willingnessto work toward and obtain the endorsementwithin a specifiedtimeframeCurrent Queensland Drivers Licence 'Australian Federal PoliceNational Police CheckExtensive experience as a Practice Nurse/Registered Nurse in Primary Health Care, with advanced clinical problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality patient care.Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, coordinate,



implement and evaluate complex client care across the Primary Health Care continuum.Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing legislation, standards, policies and procedures, with proven compliance in infection control and cold chain management requirements.Advanced communication, consultation, negotiation and teamwork skills, with the ability to support holistic care, facilitate change and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues thatimpacton Aboriginal and/orTorres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/orTorres Strait Islander peoplein accordance withcommunity protocols and customs.Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal and/orTorres Strait Islander community control.Must be willing and have the ability totravel in Cape York either by lightaircraftor 4WD asrequired.Why work for us?
