About the teamOpen Space Maintenance provides maintenance services to ensure parks and recreational facilities are maintained to a high standard, meeting agreed service levels with Asset Custodians via Partnering Agreements.
Operations are delivered through Area Coordinators, planning and implementing maintenance programs for streetscapes, parklands, sporting fields, and roadsides, and providing professional advice on park infrastructure and open space.
About the roleWork across the City (from Tugun to Pimpama) as part of a team maintaining and enhancing parks, landscaped, and recreational spaces within open space regions and the road network.
Planting, pruning, mulching, hedging, green-waste removal
Spraying herbicides/weed removal
Operating equipment (e.g.,



leaf blowers, chainsaws, pole saws)
Contribute positively to a team environment and follow established work practices to deliver high-quality work
Successful applicants will be appointed between Level 2 and Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – Operational, based on qualifications, skills and experience.
We're looking for people who have
Cert II in Horticulture / Conservation & Land Management / Arboriculture or related discipline, OR a minimum of 1 year industry experience
MR Class Driver Licence (unrestricted) – highly regarded
General Construction Induction Card (White) – mandatory
Flexibility to work from any depot
Team player with strong communication skills
Motivation and initiative, able to work unsupervised
Ability to work productively in a team and foster strong working relationships
Sound physical health to perform physically demanding duties
Professional, inclusive work environment with modern equipment
Uniform, tools and PPE provided
Strong safety culture (safety is the number 1 priority)
