ABOUT THE ROLE
If you want more than routine auto-electrical work, this is the role for you.
You'll work across a diverse range of custom vehicle builds such as heavy trucks, trailers, and light vehicles, fitting and commissioning complex electrical systems from wiring and lighting through to hydraulics, telematics, GPS, and CANBUS.
Based in Hazelmere alongside an experienced fabrication and production team, you'll be the go-to for everything electrical on vehicles that go out and work hard across WA.
No two builds are the same, and your expertise shapes every one of them.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
As TL Engineering's custom vehicle builds become increasingly sophisticated, expert electrical integration has become central to what we deliver.
This role exists to ensure every vehicle that leaves our workshop is wired, commissioned, and performing exactly to specification.
From developing schematics and installing complex control systems, to diagnosing faults and supporting pre-delivery sign-off, you'll work across the full electrical lifecycle of each custom build.
It's one of the most technically varied automotive electrical roles available in Perth – and you'll have the backing of a team that values the skills required to do it properly.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Install, wire, and commission electrical systems across heavy vehicles, trailers, and light vehicles
Develop wiring systems and schematics to meet build specifications and customer requirements
Install lighting systems, warning and beacon lights, reverse cameras, GPS, telematics, and battery and communication equipment
Fit electrical systems associated with hydraulic equipment,

cranes, hoists, and tipping systems
Diagnose and repair electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
Modify existing electrical systems to meet specific customer requirements
Conduct thorough testing, commissioning, and pre-delivery inspections on each build
Perform preventative maintenance and maintain accurate documentation and job records
Work collaboratively with fabrication, engineering, and production teams throughout each build
WHAT YOU BRING
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or an equivalent trade qualification
Hands-on experience working on heavy vehicles – light vehicle experience is also valued
Confident reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings
Proficiency using electrical diagnostic equipment for fault identification
Working knowledge of CANBUS and vehicle electronic control systems
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability – you work through it, not around it
High attention to detail with a personal commitment to safety and quality outcomes
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team
WHAT TL ENGINEERING OFFERS
A stable,

established business with 55+ years of continuous operation and a solid forward order book
Complex, high-value projects across mining, transport, and government.
Work that challenges you

Competitive remuneration package commensurate with your experience
On-site role at our Hazelmere facility
