BEC Engineering is an engineering consultancy that specializes in providing Electrical Engineering services to the mining, materials handling, industrial, utilities and oil & gas industries.

Position Scope
n
Core professional group member contributing to leadership and overall capability. Lead the delivery of engineering design, testing and supervisory services for clients in the mining, minerals processing and utilities sectors.
n
The experience we are seeking includes the capability to develop client relationships and lead projects from the design and planning stages right through to finalisation and delivery.
n
Key responsibilities of the role include:
n
n
Control system design – leads detailed engineering design on projects; sets and maintains technical design and programming standards
n
PLC, HMI & SCADA programming – sign-off authority on programming standards and architecture; reviews and approves complex code
n
System analysis & modelling – directs analysis, modelling and design calculations on major projects
n
Equipment selection & procurement – leads equipment strategy and supplier engagement on major projects
n
Project delivery – accountable for on-time project delivery, scope, budget and quality
n
Working with the electrical, instrumentation and power groups for integrated design
n
Working to BEC's safety culture and quality assurance systems
n
n




Career to date should have included;
n
n
Control system design experience in minerals processing applications
n
PLC, HMI and SCADA programming in minerals processing applications
n
Experience with Schneider, Rockwell, GE (or similar) PLC and SCADA systems
n
Programming device interfaces with communications protocols (such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Profibus, Profinet, EthernetIP)
n
Development of functional specifications from P&IDs; and design documentation
n
Technical report writing
n
Software simulation, bench testing and FAT
n
In office integration and commissioning, for green-fields and brown-fields operations
n
Fault finding and diagnostics of operational control systems
n
Experience leading team on complex projects and / or working solo on simpler applications.
n
Experience in a consulting capacity
n
Identifying and winning new business and expanding business through existing client relationships.
n
n
In addition to the above experience, candidates should have;
n
n
Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering
n
Professional membership of Institute of Engineers Australia.
n
