Leading Hand Carpenter | Commercial Fitouts & Make Good

AFS (Affordable Fitouts & Stripouts) is a Melbourne commercial fitout and stripout business based in Dandenong South. We work across office, retail, medical and industrial tenancies and have over 500 completed projects behind us.

The role
n
Full time and permanent, on the tools, working across commercial fitouts, stripouts, make good and small works on sites around Melbourne. On the bigger jobs you'll be leading a small crew and keeping the other trades moving.
n
Day to day:
n
Stud walls, ceilings, partitions, doors and hardware, joinery install
n
First and second fix fitout carpentry
n
Make good and defit work. Patching, removals, getting tenancies back to base build and lease ready
n
Working off plans and setting out
n
Running a small crew, allocating the day's work and keeping it moving
n
Keeping the site secure, tidy and compliant
n
Talking to the project manager about progress,
materials and anything likely to hold the job up
n
Running demolition projects with an in-house team.
n
What we're looking for
n
Cert III in Carpentry
n
Solid commercial experience. Fitout, make good or shopfitting
n
Able to lead a small crew and run a site without being chased
n
Your own hand tools
n
Full driver licence and a reliable vehicle to get between sites
n
Construction Induction (White Card)
n
EWP or scissor lift ticket is a bonus, not a deal breaker
n
Most of all we want someone who turns up, does the work properly and can be trusted on site on their own.
