Excavator Operator – Commercial Landscaping & Civil Construction

BLC Queensland is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our construction team based in Greenbank, QLD.
n
This is a hands-on role operating 3-8 tonne excavators across a range of commercial landscaping, civil and infrastructure projects.
n
We are looking for an operator who can confidently operate machinery, understands levels and site preparation, takes pride in producing quality work and can work effectively as part of a construction crew.
n
About the Role
n
As an Excavator Operator, you will play an significant role in the successful delivery of our projects.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Operating 3-8 tonne excavators safely and efficiently
n
Bulk excavation, detailed excavation and site preparation
n
Trenching and drainage works
n
Loading trucks and moving materials
n
Trimming batters, levels and subgrades to specification
n
Assisting with landscape construction and civil works
n
Working from plans, levels and site instructions
n
Working closely with Site Supervisors, Foremen and labourers
n
Completing daily pre-starts and routine machinery checks
n
Maintaining a clean, safe and productive work setting
n
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within project timeframes
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience operating excavators in construction, civil or landscaping
n
Proven experience operating 3-8 tonne excavators
n
Excavator competency/ticket (essential)
n
Bobcat/Skid Steer ticket (advantageous)
n
Strong understanding of excavation, site preparation, drainage and construction processes
n
Ability to read and work to levels and site plans
n
Good understanding of safe work practices and site procedures
n
Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
White Card (essential)
n
Current Driver Licence and MR Licence (essential)
n
HR Licence (desirable)
n
