About the Opportunity
n
Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with Glencore Mount Isa Mines to recruit a Supervisor - Smelter Operations within the Lead Smelter's Sinter Plant.
n
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day performance of a crew, ensuring safe and efficient operations while supporting production requirements.
n
You don't need previous Sinter Plant experience or a metallurgical background. Glencore is open to experienced supervisors from mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, heavy industry and similar production environments, particularly those with exposure to fixed plant and materials handling.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and manage a crew of approximately nine operators.
n
Plan and control shift operations to optimise people, plant and resources.
n
Drive secure production and maintain high operational standards.
n
Conduct safety interactions, workplace inspections and planned task observations.
n




Coach and develop team members to build a high-performing crew.
n
Identify and resolve operational issues and support continuous improvement.
n
Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve production requirements.
n
n
About You
n
n
3-5 years' supervisory or team leadership experience.
n
Experience in mining, processing, manufacturing, heavy industry or a similar production environment.
n
Proven ability to lead a blue-collar operational workforce.
n
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fixed plant operations.
n
Experience with conveyors, filters, materials handling, dewatering or filtration equipment will be highly regarded.
n
Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
n
A strong commitment to safety and team performance.
n
S1, S2 and S3 qualifications will be highly regarded.
n
