Job Description
Firbank Grammar School is seeking a proficient, enthusiastic and approachable Swim Coach to join our Firbank Grammar and Firbank Aquastars swimming program based at our Brighton Senior School Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing swimmers across all levels of the program while contributing to the ongoing growth and achievement of both Firbank Grammar School and Firbank Aquastars. Hours of work:This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing position, operating Monday to Sunday with hours varying to accommodate early morning training sessions, school programs, competitions and other swimming related commitments.
n
Base Salary: $70,000 - $77,000 (inclusive of super and annual leave loading), dependent on experience and qualifications.

About the Role:
n
Working closely with the Head Coach, the Development Coach will play a key role across both the school and club swimming programs. The successful candidate will contribute to athlete development, program planning, squad coaching and the ongoing success of Firbank's swimming pathway.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Coach swimmers across a range of ages and abilities, including athletes competing at State and National level.
n
Develop and implement training programs in consultation with the Head Coach.
n
Monitor athlete progression, performance and development.
n
Provide regular feedback and reporting to the Head Coach.
n
Support and oversee Firbank Grammar School's swimming programs and competitions.
n
Contribute to the continued success of Firbank Aquastars' competitive swimming program.
n
Actively support club activities, swim meets, competitions and events.
n
Assist in the development and delivery of the Learn to Swim program.
n
Work collaboratively with the Swim School Manager to strengthen the pathway from Learn to Swim through to competitive swimming.
n
Foster a positive,
inclusive and high-performing culture across the school and club programs.
n

Skills and Attributes:
n
n
Demonstrated experience in swim coaching across a range of age groups and abilities.
n
Relevant swimming coaching qualifications and a strong understanding of athlete development pathways.
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with swimmers, families, staff and stakeholders.
n
Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
n
Ability to motivate, mentor and inspire swimmers to achieve their individual goals and potential.
n
High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability and personal presentation.
n
Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement.
n
Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team while fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive environment.
n
Commitment to the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people.
n
Friendly, approachable and engaging manner.
n
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and competitions as required.
n
Qualifications:
n
Minimum of a Swim Coach and Teachers Association Development (Formerly Bronze Licence)
n
Competent skills in Microsoft Office applications, Hy-Tek Team Manager and Meet Manager and Commit Swimming application or a desire to learn.
n
A very strong organisational skill level. Must be able to work on 'timeline' and be able to function with multiple projects & tasks.
n
Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
n
Current First Aid and resuscitation certificates
n
