ABOUT THE ROLE
n
Mounties Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Casual Support Worker to provide respite support for a client living in Whale Beach, NSW!
n
This is a casual position offering two weekday shifts per week, working 9:00am to 4:00pm. You will be supporting a client living with dementia, so previous dementia care experience is essential.
n
This is an excellent prospect for someone looking for regular casual work while making a genuine difference in the life of an older person.
n
n
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
n
Providing companionship and meaningful social engagement
n
Supporting a client living with dementia using a calm, person-centred approach
n
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming as required
n
Preparing meals and assisting with light household duties
n
Supporting community outings, walks and appointments
n




Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes
n
Encouraging independence while ensuring the client's safety and comfort
n
n
ABOUT YOU
n
The successful candidate will have:
n
n
Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia (essential)
n
Experience in aged care, home care or disability support
n
Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
n
A caring, patient and reliable nature
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
n
Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses)
n
