Kanji & Co is looking for a Commercial Litigation Lawyer / Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our in‐house legal team in Sydney CBD.
n
You'll work directly with our Head of Dispute Resolution, an experienced senior litigator with 15+ years' experience, across a varied portfolio of commercial disputes, litigation and regulatory matters.
n
The difference? You'll still get the complexity and variety of private practice litigation, but without timesheets, billing targets or the expectation to build a book of business.
n
The role
n
Supporting a diverse group of privately owned Australian businesses across building materials, mining, healthcare, technology and property development, you'll have exposure to a broad range of matters.
n
You'll:
n
n
Work across commercial disputes, litigation and regulatory investigations
n
Draft court documents, affidavits, witness statements, motions, applications and settlement documents
n
Manage matters with support from experienced senior lawyers
n
Work directly with business leaders and managers to understand issues and provide practical legal advice
n
Advise on contractual obligations, WHS matters, subpoenas, notices to produce and other legal processes
n
Liaise directly with Counsel, experts and external law firms
n
Conduct legal research and develop commercially focused solutions
n
Build your capability to take greater ownership of matters as your experience develops
n

About you
n
We're particularly interested in hearing from lawyers currently working in commercial litigation, dispute resolution or a related disputes practice who are looking for something different from the traditional private practice model.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
1–3 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
n
Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
n
Knowledge of court processes and litigation procedure
n
Confidence communicating with clients and stakeholders
n
Strong attention to detail and commercial judgement
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of your work
n
n
We're also open to hearing from lawyers with relevant experience in insolvency litigation, construction disputes or
regulatory/investigations
work where the experience is transferable.
