Our client, a leading data centre developer, is at the forefront of critical infrastructure development in Victoria, with a rapidly growing pipeline of high-voltage (HV) transmission projects. With increasing demands for power capacity, we are seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager experienced in HV transmission (220kV+) to manage and deliver transmission infrastructure that supports the growth of their state-of-the-art data centres.

Responsibilities
n
As a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering HV transmission infrastructure projects. Key duties include:
n

Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV transmission projects (220kV and above), including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and energisation.
n
Oversee and coordinate GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) works as a critical component of transmission projects.
n
Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers, ensuring risks are proactively identified, escalated, and mitigated.
n
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, utilities, and regulatory bodies to drive project success.
n
Ensure project delivery aligns with stringent safety protocols, technical specifications, and compliance standards.
n
Provide transparent and consistent reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
n
Implement and support continuous improvement strategies as the project portfolio scales.

Qualifications
n
n




Proven project management experience in HV Transmission (220kV and above) projects.
n
Hands-on experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) technology.
n
Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle, from early-stage planning to final energisation.
n
Experience managing the construction phase in live infrastructure environments.
n
Ability to effectively interface with EPCs, utilities, and tier one contractors.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Residing in (or willing to relocate to) Victoria.
n
Experience in data centre, digital infrastructure, or large-scale power connection projects.
n
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent transmission packages.

A Day in the Role

Your day-to-day work will consist of:

Coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and strategies.

Leading project scoping discussions to ensure all technical and compliance requirements are met.

Overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring contractors adhere to safety and quality standards.
n
Managing project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
n
Communicating directly with stakeholders, regulatory officials, and utilities on project progress and challenges.
n
Collaborating with engineering teams to solve technical challenges.
n
Holding regular team meetings and reporting project milestones to leadership.
n
