SALARY - $100,000 - $125,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client is a leading manufacturer operating within a fast-paced production environment. They are looking for a Fitter / Maintenance Technician with both mechanical and electrical skills to join their team in the Sydney area on a permanent basis.
n
The Fitter will ideally have the following attributes:
n
n
At least 3 years of experience in a similar Maintenance Engineering, Fitting or Technician position
n
Qualifications and experience across both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
n
Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial environment
n
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on mechanical and electrical equipment
n
Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
n
Knowledge of motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems
n
Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery would be advantageous
n
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
n




A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
n
Able to work independently as well as part of a maintenance team
n
Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety
n
n
The Fitter role will involve:
n
n
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing equipment and site machinery
n
Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime
n
Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults
n
Maintaining conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
n
Assisting with the installation, commissioning and improvement of recent machinery and equipment
n
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
n
Completing maintenance records and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained
n
Working closely with production teams to maximise plant performance
n
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures
n
Participating in an on-call or shift rota where required
