About Congress:
n
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people across Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and surrounding remote communities.
n
As part of the NDIS Allied Health team, you'll work alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Aboriginal Allied Health Assistants, cultural advisors and other health professionals.
n
About the Role:
n
Based primarily in Alice Springs, you'll provide culturally responsive Speech Pathology services to children and young people with a range of developmental and disability-related needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
n
With support from experienced clinical supervisors and managers, you will:
n
n
Provide assessment and evidence-based intervention within your scope of practice
n
Support speech sound, expressive and receptive language development
n
Develop skills in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
n
Support emotional regulation and social participation
n
Develop individualised goals and care plans with children and families
n
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
n




Build your clinical skills through supervision and professional development
n
Deliver services across schools, homes, childcare centres, clinics and community settings
n
Participate in occasional remote outreach
n
n
About You:
n
n
Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
n
Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia
n
Genuine interest in paediatric and community-based practice
n
Flexible, creative and willing to learn
n
Strong communication and teamwork skills
n
Commitment to culturally responsive and person-centred care
n
Understanding of Aboriginal health and the importance of self-determination
n
Current NT Driver Licence or equivalent
n
Willingness to travel to remote communities
n
Knowledge of the NDIS and experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation will be highly regarded.
