The Role

Applications are sought for the position of Alternate Underground Mine Manager.
n
The responsibilities of this role will be:
n
n
Fulfil Alternate Underground Manager duties under WHS Act **** and WHS (Mines) Regulations ****
n
Uphold highest safety standards in line with company policy and regulations
n
Manage underground mining contractor to meet contractual and production targets
n
Align short/medium-term mine plans with LOM design and budget
n
Partner with contractor to deliver secure, on-design production
n
Scope, resource, and oversee delivery of mine infrastructure via contractors
n
Champion a safe, respectful workplace culture
n
Collaborate with Geology to optimise resource production
n
Lead and mentor technical staff
n
Prepare operational and technical reports
n
Develop systems, procedures, and standards
n
Support operational and financial budget development
n
n
About You
n
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
n
WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
n
Completion of Statutory WHS risk management units for First Class Mine Manager (Non-Coal) (AQF5) or actively working towards completion.
n
8+ years' experience in underground development and production environments.
n
A sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements.
n
A proven history successfully managing the performance of mining contractor.
n
Have an approach and communication style which supports the sharing of knowledge and professional development.
n
Strong working knowledge and application of mining software.
n
Current WA manual driver's licence.
n
Technical expertise in relation to underground mine design, drill and blast, ventilation, optimization and planning.
n
Excellent leadership skills to develop an effective team culture.
n
Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswik – highly regarded).
n
Current WA manual driver's licence.
