The Role
n
Reporting into senior leadership, this Senior Food Innovation & Product Development Specialist will own NPD from initial concept through to commercialisation.
n
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys formulation, trials, scale-up and turning ideas into commercially viable products.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading end-to-end NPD from concept through to commercialisation
n
Developing and refining new food formulations
n
Conducting laboratory, kitchen and production-scale trials
n
Managing formulation, ingredients and product specifications
n
Coordinating sensory evaluation, testing and shelf-life trials
n
Supporting product scale-up into manufacturing
n
Working closely with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Commercial teams
n
Liaising with suppliers and external technical partners
n
Ensuring products meet food safety, quality and regulatory requirements
n
Troubleshooting technical and formulation challenges
n
Maintaining accurate technical documentation
n
Identifying opportunities for product innovation and improvement
n
n

About You
n
The ideal candidate will bring:
n
n
A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
n
Proven NPD experience within food manufacturing
n
Strong formulation and product development capability
n
Experience taking products through development, scale-up and commercialisation
n
Sound understanding of food ingredients and manufacturing processes
n
Experience with trials, sensory assessment and/or shelf-life testing
n
Solid knowledge of food safety, quality and regulatory requirements
n
Experience working with suppliers and external technical partners
n
Strong project management and stakeholder skills
n
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
n
A creative, curious and commercially minded approach
n
n
Experience across sauces, seasonings, flavour systems, prepared foods or other formulated products will be highly regarded.
n
Most importantly, we're looking for someone passionate about food innovation who enjoys taking products from concept through to the production floor.
